While this may be funny, I did make me wonder if ones seniority can be determined by the reliance on #StackOverflow (or sources outside the documentation in general for that matter). 🤔

I am trying to have an instance of #ejabberd authenticate against this #mastodon instance using ejabberd external authentication mechanism. The intent is to create and manage users in Mastodon and automatically offer (group)chat functionality via XMPP using the same credentials.

I still need to write the script that does ext.auth, but I figured out that the contents of users.encrypted_password field in the database can be compared using python3's bcrypt.checkpw() function.

So far so good. 🙂

Hi all, a quick #introduction! 🙂

After having spent some time on different FediVerse instances using a plethora of nicknames I have decided to finally setup my own instance. I do unix and AWS Cloud things, I play videogames and play around with software, see how it works... and how it breaks. 🙂

I intend to hook Mastodon up to Mumble and ejabberd and provide chat and voice services for friends and family. More to follow!
